Simon says he's not "safe pair of hands"

Not sure Hughes chose the best ending to his interview on the Today programme this morning. He basically said he's the only option if you don't want a safe pair of hands, or inexperience.

He's the perfect choice if you want a duplicitous man with a lawyeresque grasp of what counts as an intention to mislead.

Oh come on! :) That's not what he said - the implication was he was *more* than a safe pair of hands.

A crude spin on words!!!.

What was reported he actually said.
"Mr Hughes urged party members to choose a leader who could "reach out" to new supporters, not just "steady the ship" which is completely different from what you are trying to imply.
